Update for Whiddon Narrabri – Robert Young Staff

Dear Staff,

We are currently experiencing a COVID-19 exposure with a staff member testing positive at Whiddon Narrabri, Robert Young.

  • All staff to wear N95 masks, staff in South to have facesheilds in addition to N95 mask.
  • Restricted movement between South and other wings.
  • Daily RAT testing for staff continues.

Update for Whiddon Narrabri – Robert Young Families & Friends

Dear Families and Staff,

We are currently experiencing a COVID-19 exposure with a staff member testing positive at Whiddon Narrabri, Robert Young.

Residents who have come into contact with this person have had PCR testing completed today.

We are asking affected residents to remain in their rooms whilst test results are pending.

Please note:
• Upon arrival, visitors will be required to complete a RAT test

Update for Whiddon Moree Families & Staff

We are pleased to advise that the COVID-19 Outbreak notification for Whiddon Moree has been declared closed, in line with guidance from the local Public Health Unit.

There have been no further cases, and normal visitation arrangements can now be resumed.

Update for Whiddon Easton Park – Sir David Martin, Leslie Lock 2 Families & Staff

Dear Families and Staff,

Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a number of COVID-19 exposures with a number of residents testing positive at Whiddon Easton Park, Sir David Martin in Leslie Lock 2.

Please note:

• Residents in Sir David Martin, Leslie lock 2 – affected zone (Room 237 to Room 247) can have 1 nominated visitor per person for the duration of the exposure period.
• Visits must take place in the resident’s room or an outside, well- ventilated area, only
• Visitors must sign-in, take their temperature, complete a negative RAT test and wear an N95 mask and shield to enter

Update for Whiddon Grafton Families & Friends

Dear Families and Staff,

Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a number of COVID-19 exposures with a number of residents and staff testing positive at Whiddon Grafton.

Please note:
• Weekend visits are no available until further notice for all of Whiddon
• Residents can have 1 nominated visitor per person for the duration of the exposure period, for essential visits only
• All visits must be pre-booked with administration between the hours of 8.30am- 4.30pm
• Visits must take place in the resident’s room or an outside, well- ventilated area, only
• Face shields and masks are to be worn for the duration of the visit
• Visitors must sign-in, take their temperature, complete a negative RAT test and wear an N95 mask and shield to enter

New Code of Conduct for Aged Care Workers

Good Morning Team,

A new code of conduct for all approved providers of aged care commenced yesterday 1st December 2022.

  • The Code sets out eight behaviour statements that approved providers, aged care workers and governing persons are expected to comply with.
  • Approved providers have responsibilities under the Aged Care Act 1997 (the Aged Care Act) to comply with the Code and take reasonable steps to ensure that aged care workers and governing persons comply with the Code.
  • The Code complements other regulation including provider responsibilities in relation to the Aged Care Quality Standards (Quality Standards), Charter of Aged Care Rights (the Charter), Quality of Care Principles and the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS).
